No missä ollaan menty pieleen? I'm not sure if at this point I'd say this is above TFE, but it's definitely an entertaining experience.Įi paras jatko-osa Serious Sam 2:lle, kun muutamassa asiassa ollaan otettu askelia taaksepäin. Overall, Serious Sam 3: BFE continues the series endless carnage of fighting hordes of enemies with satisfying gunplay, some decent new one liners despite this version of Sam being my least favorite, better level design when compared to TFE and a couple of fantastic tracks from Damjan Mravunac which showcase the epic scale of this ongoing series of Old School Shooters by the masters of the genre. You can believe all these games are in one canon, but if you are excited by the idea of multiverses like me, then there are so many questions that need to be raised when playing this again, like if Sam's repeated lines from TFE and TSE are the first time he says them in this universe, or if these versions of Jones and Rodriguez are different, or if this is a different version of Hellfire due to the visual differences between characters in this and SS4. Since the huge multiverse twist in SS4 and Siberian Mayhem happened, it leaves so much to speculate when there wasn't before. But in general, having played SS4 it makes you really respect and admire these past games more. The amount of times he says "Oh Fuck!" is redundant. And I do feel the more foul mouthed version of Sam can sometimes get tiresome. I will say that Jones and Rodriguez are completely wasted here since they die in the first level but again, you wouldn't get to see their definitive selves until Serious Sam 4. ![]() The gameplay itself is still solid and the added mechanics of sprinting and Aim Down Sights (despite how pointless it can really be on console with aim assist) are a nice touch to bring a couple more modern aspects to the series, future proofing later installments. The throwback to TFE's setting in Modern Day Egypt is a nice touch and homage to the very first Sam game and graphically it doesn't look as repetitive as TFE. There are things I'm not huge about like how the Witch Brides are handled which can make frantic fights extremely annoying and how some of the guns don't feel that powerful to use despite the Devastator being a handy weapon, most of these things are fixed in Serious Sam 4 however. (PS5 Serious Sam Collection Replay) While the game itself is filled with some flaws in it's lore if we're expected to believe that indeed Serious Sam 4, 3 and TFE and TSE are in the same canon (the reason Sam goes into the timelock) and the use of repeated one liners from TFE and TSE, this is still a solid entry into my favorite series of all time and playing it on console is still just as fun as playing it on PC. ![]()
